New Semester-Let's Try Again

Let's try to actually all show up for an event this semester.
I have spoken with a couple of other club sponsors like the guitar club. I suggest that we make a plan to take portraits of other club members as our first event this semester.

Let's Take Cheesy Christmas Portraits

A Christmas set including a snowy backdrop, lights, and holiday props will be available after school Tuesday December 8. Come by in your holiday getup after school. You can even borrow a digital camera to shoot you and/or your friends. Then stay to make a Christmas card in Photoshop. Holiday music and goodies will be available.

Working with HOSA Fashion Show

Before we commit to tackling a fashion shoot this year, let's work with HOSA in their annual fashion shoot. Chloe is finding out info. We would probably be taking pictures backstage while they are waiting for their turn.

Alas....not much participation

Only one person came to the club Halloween party from photo club. The response to doing an outdoor shoot in Nov. was negligible. I have ordered a Christmas backdrop but am honestly afraid to commit to the PTA carnival since only 2 people signed up to help. I will offer a time for us to come in and take pictures and make Christmas cards with the backdrop. Chloe is getting frustrated at the lack of participation. Let's try to show up for the next meeting!

Postponing the event

Chloe and I were sad to be the only two sitting in the room after school Wednesday. We postponed our outing and hope more people will come to the next meeting. We will need to re-evaluate our trip since both of the original options will have changed. We are also considering doing Christmas shoots with a backdrop and lights then designing our own Christmas cards. Give some feedback if this sounds like something you want to do.

Next meeting Wednesday October 14

I'm throwing out a potential change of plans for Sunday Oct. 18. Our original decision was to go to the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth then to shoot somewhere in Ft. Worth. The video and museum are free.
Potential shooting locations include the Fort Worth Watergardens
the Fort Worth Stockyards
or the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens

I'm proposing that we might want to switch to a Dallas day Sunday because so much is free in town that day.

This includes the Nasher Sculpture Gardens which is an amazing place.

Look at the options and come prepared to vote Wed. Oct. 18. We will need drivers either way, so parents are invited as well. Ask yours!
